Full of lost opportunities and unexpected wins. It is surprising to me the way the cards work out. First you are about blinded out, but you hit or you get in as a favorite and hold. Then a few players down, you get in as a favorite and you lose and you get in as a favorite again and you are out. Just like that. I look back at the possibilities, where I could have busted out in 500th place or where I could have continued on to 1st. Volume, in my opinion, is the only cure to the cards being just that: random. Sure your a 80% favorite when you get the money in but sometimes the cards randomly don't go your way. Volume allows you to replicate similar scenarios and over the long run the 80% favorite stays true. Knowing all this, I am still amazed at myself for how attached I get to a tournament, or situation where there appears to be ample opportunity for a ship. Another day, another tourney, another dollar: That's what I tell myself, and its true.

These are relative hands in a $5 knockout that I ran deep in last night:

http://www.pokerhand.org/?5115920
http://www.pokerhand.org/?5115915
http://www.pokerhand.org/?5115913
http://www.pokerhand.org/?5115905
http://www.pokerhand.org/?5115908

I thought I might find one hand in that tournament were I was behind and the situation didn't dictate a call/shove and I won, but I didn't find one intance of it.

On a side note, I am excited for double guarantee's week on FTP. Even though there aren't many tourney's in my bankroll that are guarantees the possible free money winnings is enticing. Good luck at the tables!!!

Hello and Howdy!?

I have made the decision to start this blog yesterday, but am putting in keyboard this morning after 6 hours of sleep. Please bear with me, as I am a person who operates best at 8 hours of rest.

About me: I am a 26 year old farmer who lives in Michigan. I enjoy long walks on the beach....oops different site. Anyways, our farm is a small farm, aka makes little money and as a way to try and make ends meet, I have decided to play poker professionally. The last two months have been a learning experience for me, not only on style of play but also the taxing of your body and mind with the daily grind. I played around 411 mtt sngs/9 mans in december, and it's working out to be substantially more in January with a major focus on mtts. Here is a graph of to-date results for my poker career, realize that volume and at least marginally correct decision making didn't come into effect until well into the first upswing.

Anyways, with the poker full steam ahead, I'm excited for the possibilities. I have my roommate to thank for the increase in skill and bankroll management, which took him years to learn. I get to learn in a few months. His name is adamsapple19 and he has a blog on this site located at adamsapple19.com

I will write again soon!!!!
